What needed solving.
Awards run on deadlines. Nominations and votes arrive in sudden bursts, from voters who pay by M-Pesa and by international card. The platform had to stay fast under that load, keep results trustworthy, and make paying feel effortless, for an audience expected to reach 100K+ users.
How we approached it.
We kept the front end lightweight (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) so pages load quickly on any phone, and put voting and payment logic on a Node.js backend designed to scale with traffic.
